Oh hey gang!
It’s been a lil minute since I’ve been in your inbox as I've been settling into my new life 🌴😎
Incase you missed it, I arrived in Bali 6 weeks ago, and am living here for the next lil while 👀
I spent the first few weeks here, off work mode and doing my yoga teacher training. As well as being creative, yoga has been such a big part of who I am and my life over the past 5+ years. It’s the thing that keeps me grounded in life, and is one key ingredient in helping me reach my highest creative potential.
The YTT was a life changing experience. I made friends for life from every corner of the globe and had the absolute privilege of learning from some of the most sunshiney humans in the world 🌞
Now I’m settled in Pererenan, just near Canggu - it's so nice to be near the beach. I’ve been meeting new friends, eating, swimming, dancing, doing yoga, riding scooters, going on adventures, all a part of the new Bali routine that I'm settling into, so I can continue showing up for my beautiful clients.
The warm weather, beautiful coworking spaces and the full embodiment of flexible working culture here feels so good. It feels so nice to be away from the city (and the hustle) and in a place that feels like it’s nailed work/life balance, with so many other humans here from around the world, working online! We really are so lucky to be living in a time where work can be done from literally anywhere. I really keep having to pinch myself that I’m ACTUALLY here. Truly living out my dreams. I feel so lucky 🥺
This week I also hit 3 years in business full time, which feels like a massive milestone. Sometimes when things get tough in business, it’s easy to go down the road of thinking you can’t do it anymore and it’s too hard. But all of those tough moments are so worth it for the amazing humans I’ve crossed paths with because of this work. The amazing projects I get to work on!! And how much I’ve grown creatively, spiritually and just as a human in general.
3 years ago I never would have imagined that I'd be working full time from a tropical island 😭 I really can’t wait to see where another few years takes me with this work.
Anyway, there’s a bit to catch up on here. Let’s get into some fun stuff.
Baddie is a 'imperfectly wonderful'. I think she embodies the mood of the times rn.Enjoying life and being unapologetically herself. Living her best life.

You may have seen me post on my IG this week about some reflections I've had being 3 years in biz. But I thought it was worthwhile bringing it here too.
Running a business is so rewarding but also so challenging. It's a sure fire way on forcing you head first into a whole lot of personal development. I've grown so much within my business and as a creative over the last 3 years, but also SO MUCH generally as a human to ensure I thrive, not just survive.
One element of freelancing full time that I’ve been reflecting on a lot recently, is the amount of self work I’ve had to do in the last few years to not only survive in my business, but thrive.
⭐️ RESILIENCE ⭐️
I’ve had to practice not spiralling 😵💫😂 and keeping my cool during both quiet and busy periods, each presenting their own set of challenges.
🌸 PATIENCE 🌸
With myself when I’m having off days and may not be feeling creative. And also with my clients - articulating my design process with care to make sure they feel comfortable is a huge priority for me.
💫 PRESENCE 💫
Remaining present and giving my clients my complete focus when building their brand is super important in making sure they feel seen and cultivates a deep sense of trust.
🌴 NOT TAKING THINGS PERSONALLY 🌴
I work really hard to create a safe environment for my clients to provide me with feedback. By welcoming feedback with open arms, it creates space for true collaboration and allows my clients to feel like they are actually involved in the process of building their brand.
❤️🔥 DIRECT COMMUNICATION❤️🔥
As a reformed people pleaser, being direct with communication and boundary setting has been a big one for me. It sets up clear expectations from the very beginning, allowing a smooth process for everyone.
🫶🏻 KINDNESS 🫶🏻
And most of all I’ve had to learn how to be kind to myself. Running a biz solo can be hard! But practicing kindness and understanding towards myself, takes so much pressure off and allows me to have FUN in my work.
I created this playlist to help get me in the work vibes. It's got little to no lyrics but has a good electronic/housey beat which ALWAYS gets me in the mood and gives me energy.
I know we all have v different music tastes and things that help us focus. I'd be interested to hear if this is just SUPER distracting for you 😂 Try it and let me know what you think/if it helps you focus 😎
Thank you so much for being here and making it to the end of my newsletter. I know our inboxes can get flooded with ‘stuff’ so I feel honoured that I have a space in yours 💖
Lots of love from ya quirky, colourful creative, Lize xxx
Seeya next month!
