Oh hello darling you!
It’s been a hot minute - beach life is well and truly in full swing and it’s been a spectrum of emotions as I settle in. From complete peace, to wtf am I doing, to joy, to loneliness, I’ve experienced (and attempted to welcome) it all.
I wasn’t sure if I would share this with you, but a bit of a f*** it moment right now, because stepping into the full felt experience and vulnerability of life is something I’m really trying to do more of (even in a professional setting). This share might have been something you picked up on in subtle (or not so subtle) ways, but at the end of last year I decided to walk away from my beautiful 8 year relationship. It’s been equally the scariest but also most liberating thing I have ever chosen to do. Ultimately my life is going in a different direction than it previously was, and I truly believe I had no other choice but to make that call.
So deciding to come down to the beach was about literally wanting to change up my physical environment to one that gives me more space (from busy city life), but it’s also been about giving myself the space to heal and to feel into everything emotionally, spiritually and creatively.
The first few weeks of being here felt STICKY (a lot of those wtf-am-I-doing moments), but now (mostly) all I feel is such gratitude and appreciation to myself for making such a big life shift. I can feel a whole new world opening up for me where I’m meeting new, amazing, like-minded people and being given opportunities I never believed would come true (more on that soon 👀)!
One of the biggest moments of gratitude for me was a couple of weeks ago at the Finders Keepers Creative Business Summit - my cup was well and truly overflowing after a day spent with my creative community. I connected with some of the most beautiful, colourful, creative souls 🥺🫶🏼 through the shared experience of running creative businesses, being sensitive, deeply FEELING humans (and how that’s a superpower not a weakness) and how important it is to be in community with one another 🌈 I’m still on a high after such a fab day!
Agh, I know I tend to get a bit personal here, and tbh I’m struggling with where the line is, but it feels natural for me to be super bloody real with you - I hope it feels the same for you. I suppose if there’s one thing I hope you can take away from this share, is that big life shifts can feel fkn scary, because as humans we hate change and the unknown. But change can be fkn beautiful. If we can become comfy in the unknown, in the fact we actually don’t know what our future holds, I think that’s where the most beautiful things in life can come from.
I’m quite literally in my cocoon phase right now, spending time alone by the ocean, healing my soul, so I can remerge as a beautiful new butterfly 🦋 Don’t be afraid to jump into your cocoon too, if that’s what you’re being called to do. Winter is coming so it might actually feel quite nice.
Anyway, let’s get into some of the fun things from this month!
Freakin' Wicked by @nickylaatz ofc 💛 How fun! Also this quote was too relevant for now 😉
1// At this rate I've got a (hundred)beautiful @deltavenus artworks in my saves each month 💫
2//Seriously obsessed and so inspired by some of the COOL things people are making with their scanners these days 😅 including this poster by @emerald.eyes.designs
3// An AI generated bathroom of my LITERAL DREAMS @yourbuddymeg 😱😱😱🌈🌈🌈
4// This post by @tonicsiteshop and the whole Oatly campaign in general are super duper interesting, especially in a time where people's attention is getting harder to capture!
5// Absolutely adore @camillaandmarc's latest campaign Ovaries. Talk About Them. in collaboration with artist @alba.hodsoll.studio.
6// Hehe! A sneaky pic in my saves of beautiful Jade,Emilie & I talking to @peppermintmagazine at the @finders_keepers Creative Business Summit!
OMG! So if you've been here for a while you will know I LOVE anything a bit woo woo. This Aura reading with @vibras.au was so bloody fascinating! You place your hands on these machines that are hooked up to the camera, then they take your photo and read your energy based on the different colours, rings, and light seen in the photo.
My best friend and I went together and we had virtually identical auras (super rare) which is just so wholesome and means that we are really healing for each other and we've probably met in many lives before this one 🥺💖
Thank you so much for being here and making it to the end of my newsletter. I know our inboxes can get flooded with ‘stuff’ so I feel honoured that I have a space in yours 💖
Lots of love from ya quirky, colourful creative, Lize xxx
Seeya next month!
